![]() ![]() I use it mainly for topicals so I mix it with a few drops of essential oil while its still warm. Again 1 gram per TBS of oil and it will be about 7-8mg of THC per teaspoon. If you want to make AVB cannaoil just skip the decarb process and throw your Already Vaped Bud in a jar with oil and 3/4 TBS of sunflower lecithin for every 4 oz of oil and cook it for 2-4 hrs at 185*F. I probably won’t use it for oil made with fresh flower but I also make AVB cannaoil and it already tastes like over roasted bud so it doesn’t really detract from anything. It’s supposed to help with absorption but it is a very strong taste.like over roasted sunflower seeds. I recently started adding sunflower lecithin to my oil. Either make your edibles or store it in the fridge in a tightly sealed jar. If a little bud gets into my oil it doesn’t bother me. I usually just squish my bud with a spoon against the strainer to make sure I get most of the oil out. Depending on how particular you are about floaties or grit you can double up a cheesecloth or even use a coffee filter with the strainer. One of those hand held strainers that pastry chefs use to dust powdered sugar onto things work well. Remove it from the water and let it cool to where you can handle it. ![]() I usually do 4 but again after researching it the longer it cooks the more you convert thc into CBN which will put you to sleep. Place your jar back into your water and go back to 185* F for 2-4 hours. It’s just so if pressure builds up in the jar it has a place to vent But you still want it to be water tight. Put the lid on the jar and screw the ring on so it is finger tight and then barely loosen it. You don’t want a lot of air space in the jar because it will float and it doesn’t regulate the temperature as well. Use a canning jar appropriate to the amount of oil you are using. For ”tinctures” I use MCT oil, fractionated coconut oil that stays liquid even if refrigerate( it does thicken a bit). I like coconut oil because it’s high fat and it has a long shelf life, even unrefrigerated and is very versatile. I usually only make enough oil for whatever I am using it for at the time. I usually calculate at about 15% THC which is the average content for flower these days. Add your oil to your bud, your minimum is a tablespoon per gram which will work out to about 50mg per teaspoon. Remove your flower from the water and let it come back to room temperature (Not sure how necessary this step is but after researching it may allow the terpenes to condense back onto the buds.) Open your bud and grind it if you haven’t already and put it in a canning jar. Vacuum seal your flower and create a separate compartment in the bag and vacuum seal a butter knife in that section to weigh your bud down. I usually coarsely grind my flower before I decarboxylate it but if you are trying to preserve terpenes then it might be better to grind after the decarb. u/Schnerp Original.ĭon't blast onto Oilslick Pads or Parchment Paper It's a bit hilarious, albeit a little discontenting to see burning weed flying around. Things can get especially interesting when the pressurized packed tube of weed gets ignited. READ THE SAFETY INFORMATION ON THE BUTANE CAN.
